Vintage 8K yellow gold solitaire with garnet, 50s/60s

It is impossible not to be impressed and enchanted by this ring, characterised by a design that combines a classic genre with a very well-known stone but here used in such a way as to create an effect that is nothing short of spectacular. 
Let's start by saying that it is a solitaire, in the most literal sense of the word, being decorated with a single stone, namely a cabochon-cut garnet, a cut specifically chosen to bring out all the nuances of these magical stones: beyond its semi-transparent surface we can indeed find a whole series of hues, lighter and darker, that dance and move in unison with the hand of the wearer.
Also noteworthy is the setting, entirely in 8K yellow gold: the stone is set in a highly visible and beautiful bezel, its entire outer frame being worked and decorated with elements and openwork, which then form the prongs. A very distinctive feature is the fact that this section, stone and bezel, are slightly separated from the shank, which is therefore a complete and separate element, which also mirrors the shape of the garnet on the front, thus completely covering it. The two sections are connected by a sort of central pin.
