Vintage platinum ballerina ring with star sapphire (4.59ct) and diamonds (0.85ctw), 90s

This vintage ring is one of the most magical and enchanting pieces of jewelry we've ever seen, capable of leaving anyone who looks at it speechless; its magic will make you never want to take it off, and you'll never be able to look at anything else without comparing it to it... In addition to its distinctive ballerina design, one of the most elegant and refined models in existence, at its center is a star sapphire, a gemstone characterized by a unique optical phenomenon known as asterism, a name that gives a hint of its effect: when struck by direct light, a star-shaped pattern magically appears on the stone's surface! This striking effect is actually caused by needle-like inclusions of the mineral rutile, which are aligned in specific directions within the sapphire.

In this case, the magic stone weighs 4.59ct, is an oval cabochon cut and a very delicate color, a pale blue with purple hues. It is surrounded by a ring of diamonds, almost all tapered-cut and arranged on two different edges: the innermost, tallest one, made entirely of brilliant cuts, while the outermost edge also features tapered-cut diamonds. Together, the diamonds total 0.85ct.

The end result is a ring with a mysterious, enchanted, and magical feel. Its central stone is not only precious and beautiful, but it seems as if, thanks to a magic formula, a spell, it has taken a star from the sky and enclosed it within it, so that it can always be carried with it and see it shine at all times...  

The star sapphire effect will appear when the ring is placed in direct sunlight or under a strong light source (such as a flashlight); under normal lighting conditions, however, the stone hides the particular effect.
