Vintage 18K yellow and white gold decorated cross pendant with brilliant cut diamond (approx. 0.15ct), 60s
This delightful vintage pendant is a jewel to be discovered, not trivial and above all full of details, entirely in 18K gold.
Modeled to give it the shape of a cross, it is a jewel that goes beyond the religious meaning it has, thanks to the way it was made.
In fact, it presents a taste that I would define halfway between Gothic and Art Nouveau, a decidedly unusual combination but which gives its best here: first of all, the shape of the cross is not the classic one, with straight lines but also curved ones; the features of the four arms have been outlined through internal incisions, which thus create an effect of softness and three-dimensionality; the outermost points were decorated with finely engraved flowers; in the exact center we find a brilliant cut diamond, estimated at approx. 0.15ct, inserted inside a square setting and in white gold; and finally, the ring connected to the pendant is in the shape of a lily, a further element that is impossible to ignore and decidedly non-trivial.
