Vintage 14K gold mosaic earrings, 50s
Each of these delightful vintage oval-shaped earrings is decorated with a mosaic of semiprecious stones: the base is white, while in the center we find an adorable little fly, beautifully designed with three different stones, which have been cut in such a way to recreate the two wings and the small head.
An element that I find incredible is the fact that both the body and the legs have been drawn under the stones (probably all originally transparent), in such a way as to recreate, with extreme realism, the appearance of a real fly: we therefore find that the stone that includes the head and the body has been painted black, while the two wings remain transparent (under which we find instead drawn a part of the legs, which also continue outside, on the white surface).
The earrings date back to the 50s and the frame and clasp are made of 14K gold.
