Retro ring in 18K yellow gold with green glass paste, 40s

This ring, dating back to the 40s, was made with two materials that were combined in a perfect and exceptional way, giving life to a jewel with an ancient, mysterious and almost fairy-tale flavour. 
In the center we find a beautiful green glass paste, with a round cabochon cut, which changes color and shades according to the angle from which you look at it, sometimes resulting in a very dark green, sometimes in a light and bright apple green, and still others halfway between dark and light, like a half-lit and half-shadowed moon. 
The stone has been inserted inside a setting which covers part of the external edge but which completely closes the entire back. The rest of the setting, which is in 18K yellow gold, develops around the stone, touching its upper and lower part and thus following the curved movement. The two shoulders are closed divided in two, and a line passes between them.
All this makes the whole ring look like an eye with a green pupil.
