Vintage 8K Yellow Gold Heliotrope (Bloodstone) Signet Ring, 50s/60s

To decorate this vintage signet ring, one of the most fascinating and particular stones that can be found in nature was chosen, namely heliotrope, a stone which in English is called "bloodstone", a decidedly more evocative name ...
The heliotrope is in fact a form of dark green chalcedony crossed by red-orange spots, which look like small bloodstains; these are actually inclusions due to iron oxide or jasper.
The look obtained is truly incredible, and gives the stone an aura of mystery, occult and arcane, which is very difficult to resist!

The heliotrope that decorates this ring is emerald cut and the setting that holds it is 8K yellow gold. Its dimensions are quite important, with a thick frame that perfectly delimits its eight sides, and the two shoulders have been worked in a magnificent way; the whole helps to increase the sense of mystery that pervades it, making it look like a jewel out of a horror story or belonging to an "evil" character.

NB: The black line that crosses the stone is not a crack or other type of defect (it is not superficial, you cannot feel it to the touch and it is almost invisible to the eye). but it is its characteristic.
