Art Nouveau-Art Deco transition ring in 18K white gold with central diamond (approx. 0.43 ct) and rubies, 20s / 30s
This wonderful ring is a ring that we could define as "transition" between two different periods, but above all between two different styles.
In this case the ring represents very well the period of transition between Art Nouveau (which affected the years between the end of the nineteenth century and the first decades of the twentieth century) and the Art Déco, immediately following.
In this ring we therefore find a mix between the two styles, with a greater tendency to Nouveau (but with some contamination of Déco).
The ring has a frame made entirely of 18K white gold, whose outer edge is very rounded and soft; it is also decorated with engraved decorations that create a series of floral designs.
On each of the four corners we find a very clear and decisive line of three probably synthetic rubies and carré cut (for a total of twelve).
In the center we find an old mine cut diamond of about 0.43ct; another old cut diamond decorates the final part of the ring head.
The ring, as mentioned, is transitional, and dates back to the 20s / 30s.
