Vintage 18K gold ring with aquamarine, 70s / 80s

This vintage ring is truly a unique piece, which stands out for its very particular shape and for the way in which the stone and the setting have been "wedged" together. 
In fact, we can see how the stone, a beautiful rectangular-cut aquamarine, was literally slipped inside the frame, which on the front is completely open and enlarged to leave room for the stone to see itself fully. 
The two upper and lower ends of the frame, fine and thin, together with the back of the ring thus hold the aquamarine that decorates this ring, characterized by a very intense and decidedly bewitching blue. 
The result seems to be that of an architect of the 70s, who has decided to instill his vision also in a jewel, thus giving life to this truly special ring.
