Antique book-shaped photo pendant with black enamel and engravings, early 900s

In this pendant you will find everything you could want from a jewel, if not more!
First of all, it is ancient, dating back to the early 900s, which makes it an object with more than 100 years of history; it is not only a pendant, an elegant and comfortable accessory to wear, but it is also a photo holder, designed to perform a function, in this case as a keeper of memories: whether they are photos, flowers, pieces of paper or any other small object you can think of will be the ideal treasure chest so you can always carry it with you, safe and close; finally, it is characterized by a truly particular shape, that of a book, in this case completely decorated: on the front we thus find a cross, placed in the center and surrounded by a wonderful group of black enamel, in perfect contrast with the yellow of the gold and still in perfect condition! On the back we find some engravings, which are also absolutely spectacular and scenographic. 
The mechanism with which the photo frame opens strongly recalls the spine of a real book, both in terms of aesthetics and movement. 
This splendid pendant is completely imbued with mystery and charm, made with incredible attention to every single detail.
