Vintage 14K gold earrings with synthetic spinels, 60s

These earrings, made in the 60s, are decorated with an oval-cut synthetic blue spinel, characterized by a truly fascinating light blue. 
The two stones fill the central space of a frame which, even alone, it must be said immediately catches the eye for its particularity.
It is in fact built using three "threads" of gold, curved into three ovals and of three different sizes, where the smallest surrounds the stone; all three are positioned at a distance from each other, so that there is a nice space between them, which has given life to this very special design.
