Vintage cocktail ring in 14K gold with citrine quartz, 60s

The ring you see is a very particular example of a cocktail ring; I say "very particular" because it has a decidedly different shape than usual, with a highly crafted setting and with the central stone positioned vertically rather than horizontally.

This is a beautiful emerald-cut citrine quartz, a very light orange that becomes very light when viewed from a certain angle and becomes dark orange (almost brown) if viewed from others.

The setting, in 14K yellow gold, which holds the stone is equally important and splendid: we find four prongs which hold the four corners and which come from equally four elements, like worked supporting columns which hold the entire ring. 
The stem is thick and proportionate to the whole.
