Vintage 14K gold earrings with opals and diamonds, 70s

When I saw these two earrings, one next to the other, I couldn't help but immediately see that together they form a beautiful and colorful butterfly. 
In fact, each seems to be one of the two halves of this fascinating insect, obtained thanks to the processing of the frame but also thanks to the choice, I would say perfect, of the stones.

Starting from the setting, this was made entirely of 14K yellow gold.
The shape of the butterfly is well delimited by the entire external contour, which perfectly designed its features and created the illusion of the body and wings. 

Inside we find the perfect stones for these earrings: each one is in fact decorated with two cabochon drop cut opals, positioned in the two sections of the wings; the infinity of colors and shades makes opals the ideal choice to recreate that charm and beauty that only butterflies can have. 
Finally, three diamonds were placed at the top of each earrings, giving an extra touch of light and an added sense of dream. 

The closure of the earrings is with a needle and butterfly.
