Antique 18K gold bee ring with ruby, emerald and diamonds, early 900s

This delightful ring is a converted jewel: the head comes from an ancient brooch, while the stem has been added by us in such a way as to transform it into the ring you see.
The bee that decorates the center is beautifully and carefully crafted: the body is decorated with a beautiful emerald, while the head is decorated with a ruby, both cabochon cut; the wings are decorated with two rosette-cut diamonds each.
The gold parts complete the anatomy of this adorable insect: the legs, eyes and sting are in fact modeled in gold and with extreme realism (especially the sting).
The head of the ring (and therefore the brooch from which it comes) dates back to the early 900s, while the stem is new, and is made of 18K gold.
