Vintage brooch in 18K gold with ruby, 60s
This wonderful vintage brooch, dating back to the 60s, was made in the shape of a sailing ship.
It is an incredibly crafted piece, with all the details typical of a ship of this type: we can clearly see the sails, the hull, the keel, the stern, the bow, the deck of the ship, the shrouds, the ropes, and more.
What I find truly magnificent is the fact that the sails were depicted with the wind blowing them to the limit (along with the small flag on the highest point), giving the impression that the ship is really moving.
The brooch is made entirely of 18K gold (mostly yellow, but some details are in white gold) and is decorated with a baguette-cut ruby.
